Oil tankers attacked in the Strait of Hormuz; ships are on fire – Reuters
A series of attacks on oil tankers has been reported in the Strait of Hormuz; at least three vessels are on fire.
According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) and the KVI, one of the tankers was struck eight nautical miles east of the Omani city of Limah, prompting the crew to abandon the burning vessel entirely and board a lifeboat.
In addition, according to the UKMTO, two more oil tankers caught fire following explosions while transiting the southern route of the strait. Rescue teams are currently evacuating their crews.
