New charges have been filed in the Czech Republic in connection with the arson of an arms factory
Czech investigators have filed charges against another suspect in connection with the arson attack on an LLP Holding facility in Pardubice.
Radio Prague International reports this, citing updated police data. The individual was detained in Bulgaria on Friday, and the Czech Republic will now seek their extradition for further investigation into the terrorist attack and participation in a criminal organization.
According to investigators, the warehouse was set on fire by a group of nine people, including at least two women, as confirmed by CCTV footage. The suspects face up to 20 years in prison or the death penalty in extreme cases. The police released the information on social media platform X, but have not yet provided additional details regarding the identity of the detainee or his ties to Russia. The circumstances of the terrorist act continue to be investigated by law enforcement agencies in both countries.
Earlier in the Czech Republic, five people were arrested in connection with the arson attack on the LPP Holding factory in Pardubice, where drones are manufactured for Ukraine. The incident occurred on March 20, and the Earthquake Faction, a group protesting the factory’s cooperation with Israel, claimed responsibility.
Czech authorities have assured that they are not leaking data to Moscow and do not support Putin.
Meanwhile, the European Commission is demanding explanations from Hungary regarding the possible leak of data to Russia.
