A nighttime temperature record of 27.9°C was set in the Czech Republic
The Czech Republic recorded its hottest night on record. At the Bystřice pod Hostinem station, the temperature did not drop below 27.9 degrees Celsius overnight.
According to “European Truth,” citing ČT24, this figure exceeded the previous record, set in 2013, by nearly 0.7 degrees.

Many other places in the Czech Republic also recorded a tropical night—a phenomenon in which the temperature does not drop below 20 degrees. Meteorologists reported that at 5:00 a.m., the minimum temperature was most often around 20 degrees. At the same time, in some places the air cooled to 14 degrees, while in certain areas the temperature did not drop below 25 degrees throughout the night.
On Tuesday, the Czech Republic is also experiencing a heat wave, with temperatures mostly reaching 34–39 degrees. In the second half of the workweek, a cold snap is expected to move in from the west. Severe thunderstorms are forecast to move from south to north, with wind gusts of up to 70–100 kilometers per hour. Hail and heavy downpours are also possible.
