A car bomb exploded near the Ministry of Defense building in Damascus; one person was killed

One Syrian soldier was killed and several others were injured in a car bomb explosion near the Ministry of Defense building in Damascus.

This was reported by Reuters.

According to a statement from the ministry, soldiers discovered another bomb near the building in the Bab al-Sharqi district of the capital. As they attempted to defuse it, a car bomb exploded nearby.

The Syrian Ministry of Health reported that emergency and ambulance crews arrived at the scene of the explosion. About 12 people were injured.

It is noted that the injured were taken to the nearest hospitals, and medical teams continued to provide them with care and monitor their condition.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Syria’s recovery is at risk, depending on who controls the country.

Additionally, fighting has resumed in Aleppo between the Syrian army and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), causing more than 160,000 people to flee their homes in just one day.

Syria’s Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor announced the opening of 64 shelters in Aleppo province to accommodate civilians who were forced to leave their homes due to the fighting.

The EU will provide Syria with €620 million in aid and calls for dialogue in Aleppo.
