Indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran are taking place in Doha — Reuters
Indirect technical talks between representatives of the United States and Iran are continuing in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Qatar and Pakistan are acting as mediators in the talks. Reuters reports this, citing a source familiar with the progress of the talks.
According to the agency’s source, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are not directly participating in the talks. The day before, they met with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, to coordinate the next steps in the negotiation process.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that during the meeting, the parties discussed the progress of negotiations between Washington and Tehran within the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the two countries. The participants also touched on recent events in the Middle East, particularly the issue of compliance with the ceasefire in Lebanon.
