Etihad Rail station with services to Abu Dhabi opens in Dubai — The National
In Dubai, UAE, the Al Yalayis station of the national Etihad Rail network will open to passengers on September 30, 2026. It is located next to Jumeirah Golf Estates and will become the network’s first stop in the emirate of Dubai.
The station is set to connect Dubai with Abu Dhabi and Fujairah. As The National reports, on September 29, a train carrying media representatives departed from Abu Dhabi and arrived at the new station shortly before 10:00. On Monday, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed attended the station’s launch.
Services to Abu Dhabi and Fujairah
The route between Al Yalayis in Dubai and the Mohamed Bin Zayed station in Abu Dhabi will take about 64 minutes. A Comfort-class ticket will cost 39 dirhams, while a Premium-class ticket will cost 109 dirhams. On the opening day, departures from the Dubai station are scheduled for 6:14, 7:14, 13:14, 17:14 and 18:14.

The station will also serve the route to Fujairah. A train from Madinat Al Hilal station in Fujairah will depart at 11:54 and arrive in Dubai at 13:04. The return service from Dubai is scheduled for 13:57, arriving in Fujairah at 15:07. The fare for this route will be 29 dirhams in Comfort class and 89 dirhams in Premium class.
Transfer to the metro
The terminal has ticket offices, electronic information boards, a large waiting area and two waiting areas before access to the platforms. WHSmith, Starbucks and Lulu outlets are set to operate there, followed later by McDonald's.
The station will have direct access to the Dubai Metro’s Red Line via a 400-metre elevated pedestrian walkway. After the Metro’s Gold Line opens in 2032, it is expected to become an interchange hub between the two lines. A map in the terminal shows current and future stations on the route from Fujairah through Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi to the Al Dhafra region; by March 30, the network is expected to have ten stations.
