France finds no signs of attack after train derailment
In Normandy, in northwestern France, a train derailed on the line between Rouen and Caen. Rouen prosecutor Sébastien Gallois said there were no signs of deliberate actions aimed at derailing the train or of an attack. This was reported by Deutsche Welle English.
Injured passengers
The accident occurred on Friday evening near the communes of Cléon and Tourville-la-Rivière in the Seine-Maritime department. According to the prefecture, at least 44 people were injured. One victim, a young woman in critical condition, was airlifted to Rouen.
About 180 passengers were on the train at the time of the accident, French railway company SNCF and the prefecture said. French Transport Minister Tabarot said that 140 firefighters were at the scene. Local authorities urged people not to approach the incident area.

Traffic on the line suspended
Rail network operator SNCF Réseau reported that traffic on the line had been suspended. The company said its priority was assisting passengers and restoring safe operating conditions.
A police representative said the train derailed after colliding with an unidentified object. According to police, a rail fragment that may have been linked to the incident was found on the tracks. Earlier, some politicians had suggested the possibility of sabotage or other criminal activity.
