One person was killed in France after a train collided with a truck
An accident involving a passenger train and a truck occurred in the French department of Pas-de-Calais. One person was killed in the collision.

The accident occurred at a railroad crossing between the cities of Béthune and Lens. The train, which was carrying approximately 250 people, collided with a truck near Mazin-Garbe.
The train driver, trapped in his cab, was killed. Twenty-seven people were injured in the accident. The collision also caused material damage to the train.
The French railway company SNCF stated that train service has been completely suspended until the end of the day in both directions between Béthune and Lens.
Transport Minister Philippe Tabaro announced that he would visit the scene accompanied by SNCF CEO Jean Castex.
