Car drives into people near bus stop in France’s Caen
In the French city of Caen, a car drove into people near a bus stop close to the railway station. At least one person was killed and several others were injured. Deutsche Welle English reported this, citing firefighters, police, AFP and BFM TV.
Incident near the station
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred on Wednesday at around 10:00 p.m. local time. A black car struck several people who were at a bus stop next to Caen railway station.
Police cordoned off the scene, while emergency services provided assistance to the victims. BFM TV reported two deaths, while firefighters and police said there had been at least one death.

Suspect detained
According to an AFP police source, the driver drove into the crowd after a fight that occurred nearby. After the collision, he fled but was later detained about 20 kilometers from the scene.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident and determining whether the collision was intentional.
