Ghana plans to submit 2027 budget in early November
Ghana’s Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson said that the 2027 budget is planned to be submitted to parliament in the first week of November 2026. He said this in an interview with Ahenfia FM radio station in Kumasi, MyJoyOnline reports.
Infrastructure and jobs
According to the minister, the budget will include plans for major infrastructure projects and economic policy initiatives aimed at creating jobs. The government also plans to introduce new incentives for businesses so that companies can expand into new areas.
Forson linked these measures to the government’s new economic programme. Under it, the authorities intend to invest around $10 billion to stimulate economic activity. The minister noted that during its first two years in office, the administration focused on stabilising the economy and is now preparing measures to strengthen growth.

Preparations for budget hearings
The Ministry of Finance is already holding consultations with key ministries, departments and agencies while preparing for the 2027 budget hearings and the launch of the new economic programme. The consultations are expected to help identify priority sectors and investment opportunities for the next stage of economic growth.
Some ministries have already submitted justifications for their proposed 2027 expenditures to the Ministry of Finance. Submitting the budget in November complies with Ghana’s public financial management legislation: the finance minister must present the budget for the following year no later than 15 November. This is intended to give parliament time to consider and approve the necessary spending before the financial year begins on 1 January.
