Ghana approves appointment of Borteyman complex manager — MyJoyOnline
In Ghana, the Cabinet has approved the appointment of a manager for the Borteyman sports complex. This was stated by Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams, MyJoyOnline reports.
According to the minister, the manager will be responsible for managing the complex and will also be able to mobilize resources within the framework of public-private partnerships. These funds may be directed toward completing infrastructure facilities that have not yet been finished.
Sports complex
The Borteyman multifunctional sports facility was opened in 2024 ahead of the 13th African Games. The complex has a 1,000-seat aquatics center with a 10-lane competition pool and an eight-lane warm-up pool.

It also has a multifunctional sports hall for 1,000 spectators. It is intended, among other things, for basketball, badminton, netball, table tennis and weightlifting.
Funding and maintenance
Kofi Adams stated that the facility has not received proper development in accordance with the original concept. The article notes that concerns have been raised in Ghana over the maintenance and management of the complex amid the deteriorating condition of other major sports arenas, including stadiums in Accra, Essipong and Baba Yara.
According to the outlet, construction of the Borteyman complex reportedly cost about $145.1 million.
