Driver fined in Ghana for dumping concrete on Madina—Adenta highway
In Ghana, the Madina Magistrate Court found driver Solomon Tavia guilty on three counts after a concrete mixer truck dumped a significant amount of concrete on the Madina—Adenta highway. The incident created danger and obstruction for other road users.
Concrete on the roadway
According to MyJoyOnline, on September 5, 2026, a Mercedes-Benz concrete mixer truck belonging to Betonsa Ghana Limited, with registration number GE 4891-14, discharged concrete onto the main Madina—Adenta highway. This occurred about 100 metres from the traffic lights near the Zongo Junction. The vehicle then left the scene.
Madina Police launched an investigation after receiving information about the incident. Further checks led law enforcement officers to the premises of Betonsa Ghana Limited in Spintex, where they spoke with the transport manager.

Three traffic violations
On September 8, the transport manager brought the driver to the police. He was charged on three counts under the Road Traffic Regulations, 2012: placing building materials and equipment on a road, causing danger to a road user, and causing obstruction at a junction or pedestrian crossing.
At the Madina Magistrate Court, Tavia pleaded guilty to all three counts. The court imposed a fine of 25 penalty units for each charge, with the penalties to be served consecutively. The driver has already paid the fines, police said.
