Man’s body recovered from open drain in Ghana
In the city of Wa in northwestern Ghana, personnel from the National Fire Service recovered the body of a man from an open drain filled with water. The deceased was found in the SSNIT Residence area.
Body found on September 6
As MyJoyOnline reports, the deceased was named Eric Adams. He was believed to be over 30 years old. The man was found in the drainage system on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
The incident occurred opposite the Frimps Oil Filling Station. The Wa Municipal Fire Station received an emergency report from Inspector Diana Anaaba, after which a team of seven personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service was dispatched to the scene.

Investigation ongoing
Rescuers recovered the body from the drain and handed it over to police for further investigation. The deceased was later identified by members of his family from Woggu.
The circumstances that led to Eric Adams’s death have not yet been established. Police continue their investigation.
