Latvia and Armenia sign readmission protocol
In Latvia, Foreign Minister Baiba Braže and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan signed a protocol on September 7 on the implementation of the agreement between the European Union and Armenia on readmission.
Readmission procedures
The document defines procedures for the readmission of persons and is intended to strengthen cooperation between the competent authorities of Latvia and Armenia in combating illegal migration. This was reported by LSM English, citing Latvia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Topics of the talks
During the meeting, the ministers also discussed cooperation in information and communication technologies, digitalization and cybersecurity. Support for Ukraine and the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan were separate topics.

Braže confirmed Latvia's support for Armenia's aspiration for closer ties with Europe and its readiness to continue helping the country implement reforms, including by sharing European integration experience. The EU plan to strengthen Armenia's resilience and growth provides for the allocation of €270 million to bolster the country's socioeconomic resilience, develop connectivity and trade, and diversify the energy sector.
In May, Baiba Braže visited Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.
