Ghana’s financial sector urged to strategically adopt AI — MyJoyOnline

Emmanuel Okeleji, CEO of Seamless Technologies, called on leaders in Ghana’s financial sector to adopt artificial intelligence more purposefully and strategically to improve enterprise productivity, profitability and performance. MyJoyOnline reports.

Meeting of industry leaders

Okeleji spoke at a roundtable for banking and financial industry leaders, organized by Seamless Technologies jointly with Innosol Ltd. The forum was attended by chief executive officers, managing directors, human resources directors, information technology directors and other senior executives from Ghana’s financial sector.

The event focused on AI-powered enterprises and rethinking productivity, profitability and performance in the country’s financial sector.

Conditions for AI use

Participants discussed the practical use of artificial intelligence in financial institutions, including employee productivity, operational efficiency, customer experience, data-driven decision-making and overall enterprise performance indicators.

According to the discussion participants, successful AI implementation requires more than investment in technology alone. Among the necessary conditions, they named alignment of leadership actions, data governance, cybersecurity, workforce readiness and the integration of AI tools into existing business processes.

The panel included Emmanuel Morka, regional IT director at Access Bank PLC; Jacqueline Dufie Mpare, managing director of Pan African Savings and Loans Ltd; Tweneboa Kodua Boakye, CEO of the Ghana Association of Savings and Loans Companies; and Michael Abbiv, president of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana. Dr. Abiba Zakaria, a representative of Ghana’s Commissioner of Insurance, also attended the event.
