In Greece, charges have been filed against suspects in the arson of a ruling party member's home

In Greece, a prosecutor has filed five criminal charges against three suspected anarchists who were arrested in connection with the arson of the family home of Aphrodite Nestori — a representative of the ruling New Democracy party and a former parliamentary candidate.

The charges are serious and include murder (both completed and attempted), as well as membership in a terrorist organization

The incident occurred in Thessaloniki on July 1 in an apartment building, resulting in the death of the politician’s 75-year-old mother, Vagia Nestora, while her father and two other residents of the building were injured.

The suspects are two men, aged 29 and 24, and a 26-year-old woman.

This was reported by eKathimerini.

Authorities reported that the 26-year-old woman was arrested in the Cretan city of Chania. Police described her as having ties to the Greek anarchist movement and stated that she likely traveled to Crete in an attempt to evade investigators.

Greece plans to participate in the restoration of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
