Displaced people in Khan Younis, Palestine, ask for help before winter — Anadolu Agency
Displaced Palestinians in the Fash Farsh area of Khan Younis, Palestine, held a protest calling for tents, blankets, food and other essential items ahead of winter. Participants warned that due to a shortage of shelter and reduced humanitarian aid, thousands of people could be left without protection from rain, cold and strong winds, Anadolu Agency reports.
Shortage of shelter and supplies
The protesters appealed to international organizations and donors to provide materials for setting up shelters, food and medical supplies. One of their banners said that their tents were torn and there was no food, asking not to leave them alone with uncertainty.
Families fear a repeat of previous winters, when heavy rains flooded and damaged tents. According to the agency, deaths, including those of children, were reported during periods of severe cold as well as after damaged buildings collapsed.
