Ticket windows have been completely eliminated at the terminal stations of the Kyiv Metro
As of April 28, 2026, the Kyiv Metro has closed ticket windows at the last three stations where paper tickets could still be purchased with cash. The changes affect the Vokzalna, Pochaina, and Vydubychi stations.
This was reported with reference to relevant announcements in the subway lobbies.
Following the closure of the ticket windows, fare payment at these stations will transition entirely to a digital format. Passengers can use the following methods:
- Transport card (Kyiv Digital);
- Contactless bank card or devices with Apple Pay / Google Pay directly at the turnstile;
- Electronic tickets (QR codes) purchased via self-service terminals;
- The “Kyiv Digital” mobile app.
The decision to close ticket windows at “Vokzalna,” “Pochaina,” and “Vydubychi” marks the final stage of the metro’s full digitalization. These stations were the last to be converted because they have the highest passenger traffic, particularly among commuters from the suburbs and other regions.

In Lviv, a shooting occurred in an apartment in a high-rise building. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene promptly. Police detained a man suspected of firing the shots. The circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated.
In Zakarpattia, police are trying to locate the parents of a ninth-grader who opened fire at a school and wounded another student. According to law enforcement, the teenager is currently refusing to speak with psychologists.
In Kharkiv, severe weather caused a near-total blackout, and the metro was not operating.
