For the third day in a row, schools in Lithuania have been receiving bomb threats

UA NEWS 03 June 2026 16:39
For the third day in a row, schools in Lithuania have been receiving bomb threats

On June 3, more than 50 educational institutions in various municipalities across Lithuania received letters containing bomb threats, which are being described in the country as an ongoing hybrid attack. So far, 55 such reports have been received from a wide variety of regions, though it is likely that not all institutions are reporting them.

This was stated by Darius Buta, an advisor to the National Crisis Management Center (NCMC). According to him, the country’s agencies are prepared for the situation and are working individually with all municipalities, educational institutions, and other organizations.

Threatening messages no longer have the effect on society of paralyzing normal processes. These intimidation tactics do not affect daily life, so the NCCM and other responsible agencies continue their calm, coordinated work, refusing to give the threats any additional attention. Minister of Education, Science, and Sports Raminta Popovene also assured that schools were prepared in advance for such situations and were able to respond to the threats without panic.

This is reported by the publication Delfi.

On the morning of June 2, Lithuania saw a wave of reports of alleged bomb threats targeting educational institutions, medical facilities, train stations, and the airport

Prior to this, hundreds of educational institutions in Slovenia received anonymous messages about alleged bomb threats. The letters were sent under the pseudonym Bojevnik and were received by 229 schools and kindergartens in Ljubljana and other cities.
