Clash between Lebanese and Israeli forces prevented in Lebanon — Asharq Al-Awsat
Tensions arose on the outskirts of the town of Deir Mimas in southern Lebanon between the Lebanese army and Israeli forces after an Israeli unit approached a recently established army position and demanded that it be vacated. Contacts through the ceasefire monitoring mechanism made it possible to prevent a direct clash, Asharq Al-Awsat reports.
Dispute over the position
Israeli military forces advanced to an intersection near a position established by the Lebanese army to support local residents and ensure their movement, including during the olive harvest. According to information from the scene, Israeli forces ordered Lebanese soldiers to dismantle the position and leave the area, and also threw stun grenades nearby.
The Lebanese army put its units on alert and sent reinforcements, but there was no exchange of fire. The Israeli side said the Lebanese position was located within the so-called Yellow Line. Lebanon does not recognize this line as an official border or demarcation line.

Israeli forces withdraw
A military coordination group for Lebanon operating within the monitoring mechanism joined efforts to resolve the dispute. Lebanese troops temporarily left the disputed position, allowing Israeli forces to enter the area for a limited period.
About 90 minutes later, Israeli troops withdrew from the position near the entrance to Deir Mimas and returned to their post in Tall al-Nahhas. Lebanon's state-run National News Agency reported that Israeli troops searched several houses in Deir Mimas while in the area. The Lebanese army maintained its presence in the locality and reinforced its deployment along the main road in Burj al-Muluk.
Shelling in southern Lebanon
The tensions in Deir Mimas coincided with other actions by Israeli forces in southern Lebanon. Israeli military vehicles moved from the direction of At-Tiri toward the outskirts of Haddatha near Haris in the Bint Jbeil district. Artillery shelling of Al-Mansouri and Majdal Zoun, strikes on Wadi al-Azziyeh and Wadi Nakhleh near Shaqra, as well as illumination flares over Haddatha and Aita al-Jabal, were also reported.
