Navrotsky Blames Ukraine for the Deterioration of Relations — RMF FM
Contacts and diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Poland are currently strained due to disagreements over historical memory.
The Polish side accuses Kyiv of disregarding previous agreements and failing to honor the victims of the Volhynia tragedy.
Zbigniew Bogucki, head of the Polish President’s Office, made these remarks during an interview on RMF FM radio.
He emphasized that responsibility for the cooling of relations lies entirely with the Ukrainian side, which is making controversial decisions.
“Contacts and relations are in poor shape, but not because President Navrotsky acted in one way or another. It is because the Ukrainian side has, in essence, decided to disregard the memory of the victims and the agreements reached in Warsaw,” the official noted.
The main cause of the latest scandal was Ukraine’s decision to name one of its military units after figures from the Ukrainian national liberation movement.
The head of the presidential administration called this move completely unacceptable from the perspective of the Republic of Poland’s state policy. According to him, honoring UPA fighters at the official level significantly offends the feelings of Polish citizens.

Navrotsky Responded to Zelenskyy Regarding the Order of the White Eagle
Earlier, Zelenskyy had sent Navrotsky the Order of the White Eagle via Nova Poshta.
Following this, Leonid Kuchma declined the Polish Order of the White Eagle.
Ukraine’s third president, Viktor Yushchenko, also declined the Polish Order of the White Eagle.
In addition, Borys Tarasyuk will return the Polish order due to Navrotsky’s policies.
