A 19-year-old climber died in Germany while climbing in the Alps
A 19-year-old climber died in a tragic accident in the Bavarian Alps near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. While climbing the Kleiner Waxenstein, he slipped off the slope and fell from a height of approximately 100 meters.
According to police, the accident occurred at an altitude of about 1,700 meters after the carabiner the young man was holding onto broke.
Rescue workers and medical personnel arrived at the scene, but they were unable to save the young man—doctors pronounced him dead.
It is known that the victim was climbing with a 20-year-old friend and had previously completed this route on multiple occasions.
The Bavarian Mountain Police are investigating the circumstances of the tragedy.
