Pakistan expects return of more than 23,000 Afghans from Quetta — Dawn

Pakistani authorities expect that more than 23,000 Afghan citizens who still live in Quetta will be returned to Afghanistan in the near future. This became known during a meeting on the repatriation of Afghan refugees to Afghanistan.

Meeting in Quetta

The meeting on Wednesday was chaired by Quetta Division Commissioner Zeeshan Lashari. Its participants reviewed the progress of current repatriation operations, administrative measures, progress achieved, difficulties, and the further action plan.

Joint operations

The meeting was told that joint operations are ongoing to facilitate the repatriation process. They involve the district administration, police, Frontier Corps, and other relevant agencies.
