Father detained in Pakistan over alleged underage marriage — Dawn
In Kuchlak, Pakistan, police on Thursday detained the father of an underage girl from Chaman who, according to Dawn, was allegedly married off to an elderly man. The detainee's name is Abdul Bari.
Investigation into the alleged marriage
Chaman district Deputy Commissioner Habib Bangulzai confirmed the detention of the girl's father. According to him, authorities are also trying to detain other people who may have been involved in arranging the illegal marriage.
The district administration is in contact with Quetta police regarding the registration of an FIR — a first information report — and the transfer of the detainee to Quetta law enforcement officers.

Investigation into the death of a 15-year-old girl
Police are also investigating the murder of a 15-year-old girl whose body was found in Kuchlak several days ago. According to Bangulzai, her death is linked to the underage marriage. Police are trying to detain the main suspect, who is believed to have possibly been involved in the murder.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti drew attention to the case and instructed authorities to investigate all circumstances of the incident and take action against those involved.
