An 18-year-old Ukrainian man will stand trial in Poland for acts of sabotage in support of Russia

In Poland, an indictment has been filed against 18-year-old Ukrainian citizen Ilya K., who is suspected of committing acts of sabotage, sabotage operations, and preparing sabotage activities using an unmanned aerial vehicle.

According to the Polish Internal Security Agency (ABW), the young man’s activities were financed by Russian intelligence services via internet messaging apps and cryptocurrencies, and the funds were transferred through foreign cryptocurrency exchanges registered in Russia and China. The main goal of these actions was to incite interethnic hostility between Poles and Ukrainians.

The investigation established that between November 2024 and August 2025, the defendant committed 47 criminal acts within the country, including desecration of memorial sites. The investigation into this case was conducted by the ABW office in Wrocław under the supervision of the Lower Silesian Division of the Department for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption of the Polish National Prosecutor’s Office.

The Polish intelligence service emphasized that this case serves as yet another confirmation of Russian intelligence’s hybrid activities against Poland’s interests. The enemy continues to use schemes to recruit operatives via digital channels to provoke artificial conflicts between the Polish and Ukrainian peoples.
