In Poland, a woman faces up to five years in prison for assaulting a Ukrainian girl
In the Polish city of Siedlce, a 41-year-old local woman faces up to five years in prison for assaulting a 13-year-old girl from Ukraine. The assailant, who was intoxicated, heard the Ukrainian language and subsequently began to publicly insult the child on the basis of her nationality and pull her by the hair.
Law enforcement identified the suspect using surveillance camera footage after the victim’s mother filed a report. During questioning, the woman was unable to explain her actions. The prosecutor’s office imposed a preventive measure in the form of police supervision and prohibited her from coming within 50 meters of the girl.

It is worth noting that the deterioration in attitudes toward Ukrainians in Poland is most often linked to two issues—controversies surrounding the Volhynia tragedy and social benefits. At the same time, some Poles believe that public sentiment is influenced by Russian propaganda and statements made by Ukrainian politicians.
Police in Wrocław, Poland, are investigating an attack on a 19-year-old Ukrainian citizen that took place on July 4 on Slodowa Island in the city center. According to the victim and his father, the conflict may have arisen because the young man was speaking Ukrainian.
Earlier, in the Polish city of Radom, four men attacked a 20-year-old Ukrainian citizen after he was unable to sing Polish songs.
