In Prague, a hospital orderly killed a person with an axe; the attacker was shot by police
On the evening of July 16, in the Czech capital, an orderly at one of Prague’s medical facilities attacked his colleagues with an axe and a knife. One person was killed and another was injured in the attack. The attacker was shot and killed by police while being apprehended.
The incident occurred on the grounds of the Prague Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine. According to the publication, the hospital employee entered the inpatient building armed with an axe and a knife and attacked several people.
As a result of the attack, one hospital employee was killed, and another was injured.
Witnesses said the man damaged numerous doors inside the building, and patients were forced to barricade themselves in their rooms. After law enforcement officers arrived, the attacker attempted to attack the police as well. In response, they fired their service weapons. The man died from his injuries.
The motives for the attack are currently being investigated. It is known that the attacker and the victims are Czech citizens.
