LAW anti-tank weapon found in Ramla during police search
Israeli police found a handheld LAW anti-tank weapon in a residential complex in the city of Ramla during an operation to search for illegally stored weapons. One of the complex’s residents was arrested and taken in for questioning.
Investigation into the weapon’s origin
Law enforcement officers are determining how the anti-tank weapon ended up on the grounds of the residential complex and where it came from. The operation involved officers from a special patrol unit, the Central District police intelligence division, Border Police officers from the Sharon unit, and Ramla police officers.
As The Jerusalem Post reports, police view the seizure as part of efforts to prevent Israel Defense Forces military weapons from falling into the hands of criminal groups.

Ammunition was also seized in Lod
During a separate operation in the city of Lod, Border Police officers and local police detectives conducted a search and seized six magazines and hundreds of rounds of various types. A person who was at the search location was detained for questioning.
Both operations were conducted as part of the Central District Police task force’s work aimed at combating crime and violent conflicts in Arab society. Police said their activities include searching for illegal weapons and ammunition and preventing them from reaching criminal organizations.
