Russia has banned the import of foreign satellite terminals, including Starlink
The Russian government has decided to ban the import of foreign satellite terminals into the country. The relevant decree was signed on April 29.
This was reported by Russian media.
The document states that the ban applies to radio-electronic devices used to transmit or receive signals from communication satellites of other countries, unless they have been authorized by the State Commission on Radio Frequencies.
In fact, these restrictions apply, in particular, to Starlink satellite internet terminals manufactured by the American company SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk.
U.S. drones were stranded at sea due to a Starlink outage.
Ukrainian Starlink terminals end up in enemy hands due to complex routes.
Russia’s “shadow fleet” uses Starlink terminals to circumvent sanctions.
