In Russia, the shortage of medical professionals has reached nearly 100,000 people

In Russia, the shortage of healthcare workers has reached nearly 86,000 people. This was reported by Russian propaganda media, citing data from the Russian Ministry of Health.

According to the published information, the Russian healthcare system is short about 23,000 doctors and more than 63,000 mid-level medical professionals. The highest number of open positions has been recorded in Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Sverdlovsk Region, the Krasnodar Krai, and Tatarstan.

At the same time, a joint study by insurance and recruitment companies showed that since the beginning of 2026, the number of job openings in the healthcare sector has decreased by 14%, while the number of resumes submitted has increased by 21%.

The study’s authors note that the increase in the number of resumes does not indicate an influx of new personnel. The vast majority of applicants are already working in the healthcare sector and are looking for other jobs because they want higher salaries and better working conditions.

As a reminder, production of dual-use chemical products has declined in Russia.
