In Romania, seven ministers from the Social Democratic Party resigned en masse following the party’s decision to withdraw its support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
This was reported by Digi24.
The resignations were submitted by the deputy prime minister and six ministers who represented the largest faction in the governing coalition. Among them were the heads of key ministries—health, transport, energy, justice, agriculture, and labor.
Despite the personnel changes, the government has assured that it remains functional.
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that he has already identified candidates to replace them and is preparing to submit their nominations to the president. According to him, the new appointments are intended to ensure the government’s uninterrupted work, particularly regarding the use of European funds and the implementation of state programs.
The political crisis was triggered by the Social Democratic Party’s decision to withdraw its support for the government, which threatened the stability of the coalition.
