Handcrafted work featuring a snow leopard family displayed at fair in Xining — ECNS
A handcrafted work depicting a family of snow leopards was presented at the Qinghai Specialty Products Fair in the Chinese city of Xining. The piece, titled “Guardian of the Plateau,” became one of the notable exhibits at the event, ECNS reports.
Fair in Xining
The fair opened on Friday at Xinning Square in Xining as part of the Dialogue on River Sources within Lancang–Mekong cooperation. The event showcased local handicrafts and distinctive cultural products from Qinghai, as well as goods from countries in the Lancang and Mekong river basins.

Cultural symbol of the city
Gengga Quji, a representative inheritor of the Tibetan hand-weaving technique, an intangible cultural heritage project of Qinghai Province, highly praised the snow leopard as a cultural symbol of Xining.
“Snow leopards are auspicious animals. May they bring everyone joy and happiness,” Gengga Quji said.
