In the US state of Massachusetts, Patrick Clancy and his current wife, Rachel Denis, will publicly speak for the first time about the trial of his former wife, Lindsay Clancy. The interview will air on 60 Minutes on Sunday evening, The Guardian reports.
Lindsay Clancy stood trial over the deaths of the couple’s three children in January 2023: five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson, and eight-month-old Callan. The summer trial ended without a jury verdict after one juror disagreed with the defense’s position that she allegedly had postpartum psychosis at the time of the incident and could not be held criminally responsible for her actions.
Possible retrial
Massachusetts prosecutors must decide later this month whether they will seek a retrial. A hearing at Plymouth Superior Court has been scheduled for September 29.
Juror Michael Desronvil, who did not support the defense’s position, said after the trial that, in his view, the physical evidence and key testimony showed that Clancy understood her actions and had planned them.

Patrick Clancy’s interview
In released excerpts from the interview, Patrick Clancy speaks about grief, memories of the children, and conspiracy theories that circulated around the case. He said that he still often talks to the children and asks them for help.
Patrick Clancy found the three children after discovering his injured wife in the snow beneath a second-floor window. He is now paralyzed below the waist. On the program, he said that he did everything possible under those circumstances and lives every day with the consequences of that day.
Patrick and Lindsay Clancy had previously filed a civil lawsuit alleging negligence and excessive prescribing of medications by two medical professionals and medical institutions. Rachel Denis also defended her husband in the interview against claims that had appeared online.
