The U.S. has announced the results of its negotiations with Ukraine

Late in the evening on March 21, 2026, representatives from Ukraine and the United States announced the results of the first round of talks between the negotiating teams, which took place as part of the process to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war. 

U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff described the talks as constructive, noting that the parties focused on unresolved issues to move closer to a comprehensive peace agreement. Jared Kushner, Josh Gruenbaum, and Chris Carren also participated in the discussions on the American side.

The Ukrainian delegation at the meeting was represented by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, Head of the Office of the President Kirill Budanov, his deputy Serhiy Kyslytsia, and leader of the “Servant of the People” faction Davyd Arakhamia. According to Umerov, special attention was paid to coordinating approaches to achieve practical results in the negotiation track. The teams will continue their work the following day to outline further steps within the peace process, which is unfolding against the backdrop of Russia’s ongoing aggression.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the Ukrainian delegation has already held a meeting with U.S. representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, and negotiations will continue on Sunday, March 22.
