Rain affects other regions
The prolonged rainy weather is linked to approaching typhoons, a stationary autumn rain front, and a low-pressure trough. On Tuesday, rain also fell in many areas of eastern and western Japan.
In the city of Echizen in Fukui Prefecture in central Japan, more than 30 millimeters of precipitation fell in an hour in the morning. Rain, mainly in the eastern part of the country, is forecast to continue until around Thursday due to the persistence of the autumn front.
