In the center of an Italian city, a car plowed into a crowd
In Modena, Italy, a man drove his car into pedestrians in the city center, then got out of the car and attacked people with a knife. At least seven people were injured in the incident.

The incident occurred in Largo Porta Bologna. According to preliminary reports, the driver crashed into a storefront at high speed, striking several pedestrians along the way.
After the crash, the man, who was also injured, ran out of the car and tried to flee. According to investigators, one of the women tried to stop him, after which he stabbed her.

Police apprehended the assailant near the scene of the incident. After reviewing surveillance footage, law enforcement officials preliminarily believe his actions may have been intentional.
According to local media, the suspect is about 30 years old and is a foreign national.
