A political sculpture attributed to Banksy has appeared in central London
A sculpture of a man in a suit has been installed in Waterloo Place, depicted stepping over the edge of a pedestal with his face covered by a flag. The work features an engraved signature by the artist Banksy on the back of the pedestal, although the artist has not yet officially confirmed his authorship on his own platforms.

The art installation is seen as a satire on nationalism and blind faith in ideologies, which leads to a dangerous step toward the abyss. The choice of location reinforces this meaning, as Waterloo Place is filled with imperial statues and military monuments. Many link the installation’s appearance to the approaching local elections in the UK and the rise of far-right sentiments in society.
Despite the lack of confirmation on Instagram or the artist’s official website, the sculpture has already become a topic of discussion regarding the country’s political situation. The figure of a man, blinded by his own flag just a step away from falling, appears as a direct warning against blind patriotism. The situation with similar works by Banksy often becomes clear only later, when the artist confirms their origin through indirect means.

Banksy’s graffiti was discovered in Stryi Park.
