Dmytro, a 32-year-old Ukrainian, had put his car up for sale in Wrocław. Two men expressed interest in buying the car. During the inspection, the buyers were satisfied with everything, so the Ukrainian went home to get the documents.
According to the victim, the buyers behaved strangely from the start. They asked him to drive them to an ATM to withdraw cash, but they allegedly failed to get any money at any of the 15 ATMs Dmytro took them to. Then the men asked to go to a Żabka store, but they didn’t withdraw cash there either—one of them explained this by citing a long line.
When Dmytro began filling out the sales contract, the men suddenly attacked him with a knife. He managed to unbuckle his seatbelt, ran out of the car onto the street, and shouted for someone to detain the attackers. In total, Dmytro sustained 14 stab wounds.
The attackers fled. During their escape, one of them lost his phone, which Dmytro picked up. The victim called his girlfriend and arranged to meet at a gas station, where an ambulance and the police were called. He made his way to the gas station on his own, where Ukrainians provided him with first aid. Dmytro managed to tell the police about the attack, but lost consciousness while in the ambulance.
Doctors gave Dmytro over 50 stitches; his life is not in danger. The attackers were detained.
