"The agreement with the U.S. has brought more security than the war," said the speaker of Iran's parliament
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf made statements regarding the current geopolitical confrontation, describing diplomacy as an extension of active struggle and a tool for advancing national interests.
According to Galibaf, the key objective of state strategy should be to achieve national goals and restore stability.
He emphasized that, despite constant contact with military commanders on the ground, diplomatic channels played a decisive role in changing the situation.
He also stated that diplomatic efforts had a tangible impact in the region, particularly in Lebanon, where, following the announced ceasefire, he said, more than 50% of displaced persons returned to their homes within the first 24 hours.
Galibaf specifically commended the work of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighting the complexity of diplomatic decisions under the current circumstances.
Concluding his remarks, he highlighted his own approach to politics:
“I have experience in diplomatic work, but diplomacy is not my profession,” Galibaf stated.
“I am a fighter, but with the spirit and culture of a warrior, I also follow the path of diplomacy,” he added.
