Hungary has strongly condemned the Russian attack on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra
Hungary has condemned the Russian attack on Kyiv, during which the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and the Assumption Cathedral were damaged. The statement notes that strikes on civilian and cultural sites, particularly World Heritage sites, are unacceptable, and emphasizes the need to comply with international humanitarian law.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orbán published a corresponding statement on social media platform X.
According to Orbán, Russian strikes have killed and injured civilians, and the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra has sustained significant damage.
“The Lavra is one of the holiest sites of Orthodox Christianity. Any attacks on civilian infrastructure, and especially on religious sites, are unacceptable,” the Hungarian foreign minister emphasized.
