Ukraine has filed a complaint with Israeli police against grain importers – The Marker
The Ukrainian Embassy in Israel has filed an official complaint with local police against the companies "Tzentsiper" and "Dizengoff Sahar," which import grain. The Israeli businesses are accused of purchasing wheat stolen by Russia from the occupied territories in eastern Ukraine and Crimea.
This was reported by the Israeli publication The Marker.
The embassy’s lawyers have already sent relevant letters to Police Unit 433 and the Anti-Money Laundering Authority regarding suspicions of document forgery and fraud. According to the investigation, the stolen grain was first loaded onto small vessels in Berdyansk and Sevastopol, then transshipped onto the large dry cargo ship Avnisk near the “Caucasian anchorage” in the Black Sea for delivery to Israel. The cargo was supplied by the Russian company Strategic Grain Management, based in Dubai.
In addition to legal actions within Israel, Ukraine has appealed to the European Union to impose sanctions on the aforementioned companies for violating international law. Sources in the grain import industry note that Israeli firms may have been victims of Russian manipulation, as the share of questionable cargo on board typically does not exceed 20%. Despite this, the Ukrainian side insists on strict accountability for the legalization of looted property on international markets.
As a reminder, Israel has called on Ukraine to provide evidence regarding the stolen grain.
In turn, Ukraine asked Israel to seize the ship carrying the stolen grain, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ship carrying the stolen Ukrainian grain has left Israel.
