Book by China's Xi Jinping burned at Nepal university
Several copies of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s book “Governance of China” were burned at the Technical University in Nepal’s Morang district. This incident prompted an official investigation to clarify the circumstances and prevent similar occurrences in the future.

The district head, Yuvaraj Katel, announced a five-member committee has been formed to identify those responsible and develop recommendations to avoid such cases. Meanwhile, the university administration stated the books were destroyed unintentionally during cleaning, as the documents were damaged by termites.
Subash Shree Pokhrel, the university’s vice-rector, emphasized there was no intent to harm friendly ties with China. The incident is seen as a misunderstanding that requires formal investigation.
