Flights cancelled and delayed at Riyadh airport — The Hindu

At King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, flight cancellations and delays were recorded on September 19, 2026. Flight-tracking service Flightradar24 reported significant disruptions to airport operations after city residents saw smoke and flames nearby.

Maximum disruption level

Flightradar24 assigned the airport the maximum disruption index of 5.0. According to the service’s scale, this indicator means significant problems: lengthy delays and the cancellation of several flights. King Khalid Airport serves the Saudi capital.

Fire near the airport

As The Hindu reports, an AFP journalist reported a fire in an Aramco fuel tank near Riyadh International Airport. Before that, city residents had reported hearing explosions.
