Searches in Ballarat
Detectives from Taskforce Echo, a unit established to combat crimes involving outlaw motorcycle clubs, carried out several searches in the Ballarat area in connection with several incidents. One warrant was executed in the morning at Bandidos premises on Greenbank Court in Delacombe.
Law enforcement officers detained several people. Among them was a 32-year-old man who, according to police, is considered a full member of the Bandidos.

Fire in Melton
The investigation also concerns a suspected failed attempt to set fire to a tobacco shop in western Melbourne on September 3. Emergency services were called to the store near the intersection of High and Alexandra streets in Melton shortly after 02:50, when the building was on fire.
CCTV footage shows a car reversing up to the building, after which two men carrying containers that likely contained fuel get out. Moments later, flames engulfed both men. According to police, one of them fled, leaving his injured accomplice at the scene.
Emergency services found a man with severe burns nearby, who was later airlifted to Alfred Hospital. The 23-year-old man remains in critical condition. Police said he suffered burns to his upper and lower body that will significantly change his life.
