Indonesia bans sex and cohabitation outside marriage
A new Penal Code came into effect in Indonesia in January, prohibiting sex and cohabitation outside of marriage. This law applies also to tourists, including those vacationing on Bali. Source
Only specific individuals can file a complaint: the deceived spouse, as well as the parents or children of the accused. If adultery is proven, the offender may face up to one year in prison.
