Teachers in France have called a strike over budget cuts
French teachers are planning a strike on March 31 in response to the government's decision to cut more than 4,000 jobs in the education sector.
This was reported by BFMTV.
The cuts involve 4,018 positions, of which about 1,900 are in public kindergartens and elementary schools.
The government attributes this decision to a demographic decline—the number of students is expected to decrease by approximately 117,000.
At the same time, unions are calling the cuts a “disaster” and warning of overcrowded classrooms and a decline in the quality of education.
As a reminder, a two-day strike at Lufthansa will affect passenger and cargo flights.
In April, resident doctors in England plan to strike after the government rejected their proposal for a pay raise.
