VIDEO: A blogger sneaked into a tribe's camp and left them a strange gift
Mykhailo Polyakov, a 25-year-old blogger of Ukrainian descent living in the United States, illegally landed on North Sentinel Island in the Indian Ocean, home to one of the world’s most isolated tribes—the Sentinelese.
In March 2025, Polyakov set out in a motorboat for the island, access to which is strictly prohibited by Indian authorities to protect local residents from outside contact and infectious diseases.
According to the blogger, the journey took about nine hours. Upon arrival, he remained near the coast for some time and later briefly landed on the beach.
Polyakov said he tried to attract the attention of tribe members using a whistle and a flashlight, but no contact was made. Before leaving, he left a bottle of soda on the shore.
Upon his return, the man was detained by Indian authorities. The court sentenced him to a fine of 15,000 rupees and three weeks in prison.
The blogger’s actions drew criticism from the human rights organization Survival International. Its representatives emphasized that even brief contact with members of uncontacted tribes can pose a deadly threat due to their lack of immunity to common diseases.
Further outrage was sparked by the fact that Polyakov published a video of his trip only a year after the incident.
North Sentinel Island is considered one of the most isolated places on the planet. India prohibits approaching it, and members of the tribe have repeatedly shown hostility toward outsiders. In particular, in 2018, an American missionary who attempted to make contact with the local inhabitants was killed there.

Ukrainian blogger Andriy Havryliv has been banned from entering Poland for five years after he drove his car into the Morskie Oko nature reserve in the Tatra Mountains.
Tourists can once again reach Morskie Oko—one of the most popular destinations in the Polish Tatra Mountains. After several days of a complete road closure, the road has been reopened to traffic, and electric bus service will resume in the near future.
