Video: Macron to Visit French Department Ravaged by Massive Wildfires
On July 27, French President Emmanuel Macron will visit the Gironde department in the southwestern part of the country, where large-scale wildfires have been raging for several days. The fires have destroyed tens of thousands of hectares of forest, forced the evacuation of more than 220,000 people, and left dozens of rescue workers injured.
The head of state plans to meet with firefighters, emergency responders, and local authorities who are working to address the aftermath of the disaster.
