Dmitry Larin, who served as deputy chairman of the board of Genbank, was killed in a traffic accident on 1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street in Moscow. The accident involved a motorcycle; the circumstances of the tragedy are under investigation.

 

Larin, a 50-year-old financier, oversaw the bank’s information security division.

In public, he primarily spoke as an expert on cybersecurity for banks and technology import substitution.

The accident occurred on the morning of Tuesday, August 18. The Royal Enfield motorcycle Larin was riding collided with an ambulance. Larin died at the scene from his injuries.

According to the Telegram channel Shot, the accident occurred when the ambulance, with three medical personnel on board, veered into the oncoming lane. Larin was riding his motorcycle in that lane. The impact sent both the motorcycle and Larin flying several meters. Local media report that the ambulance was traveling with its emergency lights on. It has already been confirmed that the vehicle belongs not to the city but to a commercial organization.

As a reminder, in Kyiv, a BMW crashed into an outdoor terrace; the driver was Kirill Ostrovsky, who had previously been tried for a fatal traffic accident.

Earlier, a community head in the Donetsk region was killed in a traffic accident.

As a reminder, the Pryluky City and District Court in Chernihiv Oblast sentenced a former police officer to eight years in prison for a fatal traffic accident that resulted in the death of a six-year-old child.

In Lviv Oblast, a 68-year-old driver of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, who was under the influence of alcohol, fatally struck a Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemember. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
