Zelenskyy and Merz discussed the next steps for Ukraine's progress toward EU membership

Separately, the parties discussed exactly what needs to be done next—both in terms of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Germany and in cooperation with other partners. This involves coordinating actions and preparing for new negotiations and meetings scheduled for the coming days. “We are preparing for meetings and negotiations this week,” Zelenskyy added.
Following the conversation, both sides outlined priorities for the near future. These include further progress in negotiations with the EU, international support for Ukraine, and coordinating common positions with allies.
